Magnolia’s is a unique art class for all cis and trans women, as well as non-binary people who are comfortable in a space that centres on the experiences of women. At Magnolia's we share a sacred experience where not only the art model, but everyone is invited to strip off, let go, and embrace their bodies! Magnolia’s Art Class is a judgment free, safe space that encourages participants to utilize art and nudity in order to create an empowering bonding experience, where everyone can leave feeling a sense of freedom, inspiration and a greater appreciation for diversity.
The focus will be on figure drawing, no drawing experience is necessary as our teacher Kate will take you through basic techniques and exercises! There will be a model to lead the evening, however everyone is beautiful in their own way and we embrace diversity, so we encourage anyone to step up and strike a pose for the artists to draw in the later part of the class!

Dulcie's Bar Bohemia
Dulcie’s is a subterranean cocktail parlour inspired by Dulcie Deamer and her fellow Bohemians of Sydney’s past. As you descend the stairs you leave the modern day chaos of Darlinghurst Road and enter into a cosy drinking den where old world charm and personalised service is at the forefront of our guest experience.
Dulcie’s is a venue that support diversity and encourages inclusivity for those who walk through our door. With events, performances and talks, such as Burlesque, Magnolia’s Life Drawing, and Miss 3D as part of their Mardi Gras series, Dulcie's welcome bohemians, vagabonds, tourists, suits, friends of Dorothy, sisters of mercy, you name it you're welcome!
Dulcies provides a curated 'Mags' menu on all food and drinks (Australian made and owned!) and the class will be cordoned off in a special area of the bar to maintain discretion for guests, and no need to worry about throwing on a robe to order drinks at the counter, the wonderful Rhiannon will take your order by providing stellar table service to all guests!
THE DREAM TEAM
Host & Art Model Mentor
Rosie has been working professionally as an art model and performer for over 8 years, she also works as a support worker in mental health, and as a creative arts facilitator for adults living with disability.
Rosie created Magnolia's as a therapeutic and empowering opportunity that provides a safe and non-judgemental environment for individuals to embrace their naked selves, and to explore the beauty and diversity of the individual form through art and community gathering.
As mentor, Rosie will be available to offer guidance and support to any individuals who wish to pose throughout the evening, as well advice to those who wish to pursue a career in art modelling.
Teacher & Co-Host
Kate Hart is an artist and Illustrator with a design degree from The College of Fine Arts UNSW. She is a mother and a woman with many passions, one of the greatest of these is life drawing and being able to facilitate others to engage in this rewarding practice.
Kate believes that we are all creative souls and often we have lost access to that part of ourselves, and in doing so, we have shut out the most beautiful element of our heart, limiting our empathy and ability to connect with each other.
Creating something original in an open and safe space can be a most amazing and rewarding experience... watching someone surprise themselves in an art session fills Kate’s big arty heart with joy!
By guiding and teaching the artists a number of basic drawing exercises throughout the class, Kate aspires to help individuals discover the perfect nature of their truly powerful bodies and creativity.
